Tabish Ansari obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Science from Lancaster University UK in 2020, focusing on emissions and air pollution due to human activities in Beijing and the wider northern China region. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned a master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, where he investigated regional climate and pollution over India. After completing his PhD, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Galway in Ireland, working on regional and urban-scale modelling in the UK and Ireland.
He later joined the University of Groningen as an Assistant Professor, Earth & Energy, where he taught courses on Earth System Science and Climate Data analysis, while continuing his research on atmospheric modelling. Since 2022, he has been working at the Research Institute for Sustainability - Helmholtz Centre Potsdam (RIFS). His current research focuses on identifying the emission sources for global ozone pollution.
He has published extensively in reputed international journals such as Nature Scientific Reports, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics and Atmospheric Environment. He holds a certificate in philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, UK. His interests also include understanding the root causes of pollution such as the deeper human motivations that drive excessive material consumption.
